چکیده

Introduction. Currently, there is no unified treatment algorithm of cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The aim the study was to investigate effects simvastatin (SIM) and -3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (-3 PUFAs) on blood lipid profile insulin resistance (IR) definite neuropathy. Materials methods. involved 72 T2DM CAN. Patients were divided into four groups: 1st - received standard hypoglycemic therapy control (n = 15); 2nd 22) – addition 20.0 mg/q.d.; 3rd 18) 1 capsule/q.d. ω-3 PUFAs; 4th 17) SIM 10.0 mg/q.d capsule/q.d PUFAs for three months. concentration glucose, glycated hemoglobin A1c, immunoreactive (IRI), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high-density (HDL-C), triglycerides (TG) determined. Homeostasis model assessment IR (HOMA-IR), atherogenic coefficient (AC), TG/LDL-C, TG/TC, TG/LDL-C TG glucose index (TyG) calculated. Results. Prescription accompanied by a statistically significant decrease TC, LDL-C, concentrations. In parallel, induced AC, TG/HDL-C, increase HDL-C, does not affect IRI, HOMA-IR, TC/LDL-C/HDL-C, TyG. use has contributed reduction TG, TyG index, changes IRI content, TC/LDL-C/HDL-C. combined prescription more pronounced, spectrum, as well HOMA-IR. Conclusions. Obtained results justify appropriateness Keywords: mellitus, neuropathy, treatment.

Evaluation of the Relationship between Endometriosis and Omega-3 and Omega-6 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids

Background: Endometriosis is a common chronic inflammation causing major problems including infertility. The role of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids as their potential anti-inflammatory effects in endometriosis needs to be further explored. The objective of this study was to compare serum phospholipid fatty acid profile in endometriosis patients with controls, and to explore the correlation of ...

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and cardiovascular diseases.

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (omega-3 PUFA) therapy continues to show great promise in primary and, particularly in secondary prevention of cardiovascular (CV) diseases. The most compelling evidence for CV benefits of omega-3 PUFA comes from 4 controlled trials of nearly 40,000 participants randomized to receive eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) with or without docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in stu...

The Effects of Simvastatin on Free Fatty Acids Profile in Fructose-fed Insulin Resistant Rats

Backgrounds: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease and free fatty acids, as signaling molecules, can play a crucial role in the development of it. Different free fatty acids, through various cell membrane receptors, induce different effects on metabolic pathways and thereby affect insulin sensitivity. Simvastatin is a cholesterol decreasing drug prescrib...
