چکیده
Genetically modified (GM) crops tolerant to glyphosate have delivered significant economic benefits in farm management. However, the evolution of resistance weeds due prolonged intensive use poses a serious threat this weed management system. It is highly desirable China deploy dual herbicide-tolerant corn at very beginning GM release delay development herbicides. Here, we report creation and characterization event SCB-29 that expresses both cp4 epsps bar genes. This transgenic maize up 3600 g a.e. ha−1 glufosinate a.i. ha−1, which are quadruple recommended rates for two herbicides, respectively. an with only single copy T-DNA inserted into chromosome 10 genome. An event-specific PCR detection method was established three generations were detected by suggesting transgenes stably integrated Analysis expression levels among plants multiple enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays suggested expressions stable over different generations. Moreover, major agronomic performances appear be similar those non-transgenic maize, not likely yield drag. Therefore, excellent candidate developed commercial herbicide tolerance event.

Impact of glyphosate-tolerant soybean and glufosinate-tolerant corn production on herbicide losses in surface runoff.
Residual herbicides used in the production of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr] and corn (Zea mays L.) are often detected in surface runoff at concentrations exceeding their maximum contaminant levels (MCL) or health advisory levels (HAL). With the advent of transgenic, glyphosate-tolerant soybean and glufosinate-tolerant corn this concern might be reduced by replacing some of the residual herbic...
متن کاملAdvances in Maize Transformation Technologies and Development of Transgenic Maize
Maize is the principal grain crop of the world. It is also the crop where genetic engineering has been employed to a great extent to improve its various traits. The ability to transform maize is a crucial step for application of gene technology in maize improvement. There have been constant improvements in the maize transformation technologies over past several years. The choice of genotype and...
متن کاملEffect of the herbicide glyphosate on the culturable fraction of glyphosate-tolerant maize rhizobacterial communities using two different growth media.
A comparison was drawn between the effect of glyphosate (Roundup Plus), a post-emergence applied herbicide, and Harness GTZ, a pre-emergence applied herbicide, on the culturable fraction of the rhizobacterial communities of genetically modified NK603 glyphosate-tolerant maize. Two different non-selective rich media were used to grow fast-growing culturable bacteria, BHI and NB, as a more accura...
متن کاملInteraction of 2,4-D or Dicamba with Glufosinate for Control of Glyphosate-Resistant Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida L.) in Glufosinate-Resistant Maize (Zea mays L.)
Glyphosate-resistant (GR) giant ragweed is a problematic broadleaf weed in crops including maize and soybean in the Midwestern United States. Commercialization of crops with 2,4-D or dicamba and glufosinate resistance will allow post-emergence (POST) applications of these herbicides. Therefore, information is needed on how 2,4-D/dicamba will interact with glufosinate in various rate combination...
متن کاملCompositional analysis of glyphosate-tolerant soybeans treated with glyphosate.
The compositional analyses and safety assessment of glyphosate-tolerant soybeans (GTS) were previously described. These analyses were extensive and included addressing the potential effects on seed composition from the genetic modification. Detailed compositional analyses established that GTS, which had not been treated with glyphosate, were comparable to the parental soybean line and to other ...
