چکیده
Partial cement replacement by low-carbon-impact additions has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions. The aim of this study is development a ternary binder that includes ordinary Portland (OPC), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), and flash-calcined sediment (FCS). To upgrade dredged mineral material into FCS, new heat treatment, i.e., flash calcination, was used. used materials were physically, chemically, mineralogically characterized. mixture design method optimize blended binders. A model developed validated for prediction 90-day compressive strength mortars composed OPC (C), GGBS (S), FCS (F). Five mixes, reference RM (100% OPC), binary mix (50% 50% GGBS), three mixes with rates 10%, 15%, 20% characterized in fresh hardened states. results show incorporation reduced workability increased their densities. Moreover, initial setting time delayed, hydration peak decreased. strengths containing 10% higher than those RM. In conclusion, use 40% an efficient substitute OPC.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...
متن کاملThe Study of Ion Adsorption by Amorphous Blast Furnace Slag
In this study, the blast furnace slag was used as absorbing bed and then, its ionic adsorption was studied. For this reason, various experimental parameters such as pH, contact time and the primary ion concentration were investigated. The remaining concentrations of ions such as; Mn2+ and Fe2+ in water were measured by atomic adsorption spectroscopy. The chemical and p...

After that the degrees of sintering, obtained after heat-treatment at different temperatures and times, were evaluated measuring ...
متن کاملProperties of Foamed Mortar Prepared with Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag
Foamed mortar with a density of 1300 kg/m³ was prepared. In the initial laboratory trials, water-to-cement (w/c) ratios ranging from 0.54 to 0.64 were tested to determine the optimal value for foamed mortar corresponding to the highest compressive strength without compromising its fresh state properties. With the obtained optimal w/c ratio of 0.56, two types of foamed mortar were prepared, name...
متن کاملEFFECTS OF SILICA MODULUS AND ALKALI CONCENTRATION ON ACTIVATION OF BLAST-FURNACE SLAG
Abstract: The use of alkali-activated cementitious materials especially over the past decades has significantly been increased. The goal of this research is to investigate the effects of silica modulus and alkali concentration on alkali-activation of blast-furnace slag. In this research, the most important physical characteristics of cementitious systems, i.e. the 28-day compressive strength...
