چکیده
Abstract A new approach to modelling epidemics of brown rot caused by Monilinia spp. in Ebro Valley peach orchards has been developed. This compartmental model was subdivided according the phenological stages which disease can develop (blossom, immature fruit, and ripe fruit). Information host susceptibility, primary secondary inoculum sources latent infections fruit taken into account. The is described a system differential equations, simple enough allow an analytical study main epidemiological factors that determine rate progress during single growing season. proposed fits well epidemic pattern observed north-eastern Spain. transmission as non-linear term implied small changes infection had large effect on development disease. confirmed usefulness removing mummies (infected remains crop winter) from field reduce final incidence In addition, all control measures either through use more resistant varieties or fungicides, are effective reducing incidence. flexible allows add complexities evaluate effectiveness different strategies.

Fine-Scale Genetic Structure of Monilinia fructicola During Brown Rot Epidemics Within Individual Peach Tree Canopies.
The purpose of this study was to determine the fine-scale genetic structure of populations of the brown rot pathogen Monilinia fructicola within individual peach tree canopies to better understand within-tree plant pathogen diversity and to complement previous work on spatiotemporal development of brown rot disease at the canopy level. Across 3 years in a total of six trees, we monitored diseas...
متن کاملMonilinia Species Causing Brown Rot of Peach in China
In this study, 145 peaches and nectarines displaying typical brown rot symptoms were collected from multiple provinces in China. A subsample of 26 single-spore isolates were characterized phylogenetically and morphologically to ascertain species. Phylogenetic analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions 1 and 2, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PDH), β-tubulin (TUB2) reveale...
متن کاملSpatial Patterns of Brown Rot Epidemics and Development of Microsatellite Markers for Analyzing Fine-Scale Genetic Structure of Monilinia fructicola Populations Within Peach Tree Canopies
To better understand the fine-scale spatial dynamics of brown rot disease and corresponding fungal genotypes, we analyzed three-dimensional spatial patterns of pre-harvest fruit rot caused by Monilinia fructicola in individual peach tree canopies and developed microsatellite markers for canopy-level population genetics analyses. Using a magnetic digitizer, high-resolution maps of fruit rot deve...
متن کاملPEACH: Predicting Frost Events in Peach Orchards Using IoT Technology
In 2013, 85% of the peach production in the Mendoza region (Argentina) was lost because of frost. In a couple of hours, farmers can lose everything. Handling a frost event is possible, but it is hard to predict when it is going to happen. The goal of the PEACH project is to predict frost events by analyzing measurements from sensors deployed around an orchard. This article provides an in-depth ...
متن کاملAre Flowering Plants Taboo in Peach Orchards?
It is generally recommended that broadleaf plants in and around peach orchards must be controlled to minimize damage from stink bugs (Pentatomidae) and plant bugs (Lygus spp.). In research orchards located in West Virginia, USA, I have been growing peach trees as a monoculture or interplanted with apple, with and without the presence of broadleaf flowering plants. The flowering plants were used...
