Development of Broken Rotor Bar Fault Diagnosis Method with Sum of Weighted Fourier Series Coefficients Square

This study proposes a broken rotor bar (BRB) fault diagnosis method for an induction motor using the sum of weighted Fourier series coefficients squares complex current as signal. First, confirms very narrow band-pass filter characteristics to derive specific frequency component. assists us in obtaining BRB signal that exists limited range. Second, magnitude is proportional slip and load condition. A weighting factor proposed render irrelevant Consequently, can be conducted without information or searching maximum coefficient Finally, validated through experiments 55 kW with fault. It implemented DSP controller at time intervals 20, 10, 5, 4 s series. The performs well under various conditions shows derived exhibits large difference between healthy faulty motors.
