چکیده
Heterosis and combining ability were calculated for 13 different morphological, yield, quality-related traits of 18 F1 Brassica napus hybrids developed through line × tester mating design using 6 lines 3 testers along with their parents. Line ANOVA revealed highly significant results among all characters except primary branches per plant. ZM-R-2 (tester) was identified as a good general combiner for, days to 50% flowering, siliqua formation, linolenic acid (%), number secondary branches, siliquae plant, seeds siliqua, while ZM-R-6 100-seed weight, protein, oleic percentage. ZM-R-11 specific (-5.19**, -4.70**, -5.37**), ZM-M-6 ZM-R-2, ZN-M-9 ZM-R-6, ZN-R-8 Shiralee combiners oil, protein percentage, respectively. Highly desired mid-parent heterosis observed ZM-R-7 morphological quality like content oil (24.87**) (19.27**). Positive mid parental (46.81**), linoleic acid, seed yield plant-1 in ZM-R-10 ZM-R-10. These can be utilized source genetic material future breeding programs.

Synthetic Brassica napus L.: Development and Studies on Morphological Characters, Yield Attributes, and Yield
Brassica napus was synthesized by hybridization between its diploid progenitor species B. rapa and B. oleracea followed by chromosome doubling. Cross with B. rapa as a female parent was only successful. Among three colchicine treatments (0.10, 0.15, and 0.20%), 0.15% gave the highest success (86%) of chromosome doubling in the hybrids (AC; 2n = 19). Synthetic B. napus (AACC, 2n = 38) was identi...
متن کاملFatty acid breakdown in developing embryos of Brassica napus L.
Developing Brassica napus embryos are primarily concerned with the accumulation of storage products, namely oil, starch and protein. The presence of fatty acid catabolic pathways in the background of this biosynthetic activity was investigated. Enzymes involved in the process of lipid mobilization, such as malate synthase and isocitrate lyase, are detectable towards the late stages of embryo de...
متن کاملStorage oil breakdown during embryo development of Brassica napus (L.).
In this study it is shown that at least 10% of the major storage product of developing embryos of Brassica napus (L.), triacylglycerol, is lost during the desiccation phase of seed development. The metabolism of this lipid was studied by measurements of the fate of label from [1-(14)C]decanoate supplied to isolated embryos, and by measurements of the activities of enzymes of fatty acid cataboli...
متن کاملAllelic Variation of BnaC.TT2.a and Its Association with Seed Coat Color and Fatty Acids in Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.)
Efficient molecular markers for the selection of rapeseed genetic materials with high seed oil content and ideal fatty acid (FA) composition are preferred by rapeseed breeders. Recently, we reported the molecular mechanism of TRANSPARENT TESTA 2 (TT2) in inhibiting seed FA biosynthesis in Arabidopsis. However, evidence showing the association of rapeseed TT2 homologs and seed FA production are ...
متن کاملDetermination of Yield and Some Quality Characteristics of Winter Canola (Brassica napus ssp. oleifera L.) Cultivars
Canola is a specific edible type of rapeseed, developed in the 1970s, which contains about 40 percent oil. This research was carried out to determine the yield and some quality characteristics of some winter canola cultivars during the 2010-2011 vegetation period in Central Anatolia of Turkey. In this research; Oase, Dante, Californium, Excalibur, Elvis, ES Hydromel, Licord, Orkan, Vectra, Nels...
