Development of an input-output model for food-energy-water nexus in the pacific northwest, USA

چکیده
With growing populations and changing climate, the food, energy water (FEW) security have become a global issue. In response, concept of FEW nexus in which interdependency between sectors are taken into account order to effectively manage resources provide has emerged. Thus, understand thorough quantitative framework is necessary. Although there numerous studies on nexus, limited research developing mathematical equations model nexus. The goal this study was develop an input-output (IO) quantify Pacific Northwest. were divided 21 subsectors IO used total output each subsector. Intensity coefficients calculated further broken down technology allocation coefficients. uncertainty analysis effect variation subsector results showed that these two distributions significantly different. sensitivity agricultural crops, especially alfalfa highest consumption due fact production intensive. multi-objective optimization minimize cost environmental impact system impacts, more surface hydroelectricity wind electricity should be utilized.
