Abstract The Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) employs Magnetic Alloy (MA) loaded cavities. We realize multi-harmonic rf driving and beam loading compensation owing to the broadband characteristics of MA. currently installed cavity is conventional type one which designed be driven by tube amplifiers in a push-pull operation. operation has some advantages, i.e., suppressing higher harmonic distortion without acceleration shortening length. However, disadvantage arises at high intensity where causes severe imbalance anode voltage swing restricts Although we have achieved an for design power 1 MW, becomes issue further increase power. developed single-ended MA avoid such difficulty. no intrinsically it found that consumption drive can reduced compared with one.
