Development of a polyurea-based composition with an extended life span

Objectives . Improvement of the technology for obtaining polymer-sprayed coatings based on polycarbodiimides (polyureas) with high chemical, hydrolytic, and abrasive resistance improved physical mechanical properties, as well obtainment polyurea compositions a lifetime at least 5 min without loss performance characteristics (i.e., “hand-applied” polyureas) suitable repair already in use. Methods The reaction rate between isocyanate amino groups is almost hundred times higher than that hydroxyl groups, necessitating use special highperformance high-pressure installations equipped self-cleaning mixing chambers heating components. following are determined from obtained materials: strength, elongation break according to standard method, Taber abrasion, Shore hardness. When using 14% molecular weight 2000 Da, only systems make it possible obtain more min. At same time, tensile strength decreases by 20%, abrasion increases 40%; however, such have adhesion force cheaper pure polyureas, allowing them be used “repair” Conclusions developed applying allow existing specialized devices. “Manual” easy does not require training.
