Development of a Moving Bed Reactor for Thermochemical Heat Storage Based on Granulated Ca(OH)2

چکیده

Calcium hydroxide is promising for thermal energy storage due to its low cost and high density. Nevertheless, the powdered material cohesive has conductivity which a major challenge operation of moving bed reactors. One approach facilitate movement reaction stabilisation particles through coating Ca(OH)2 granules with Al2O3 particles. In this work, newly designed reactor concept was specifically developed testing coated granules. The design allows by gravity assistance direct heating counter current gas flow. successfully demonstrated proved achieve heat transfer between Furthermore, achieved after discharging phase. Two batches uncoated were subject 10 thermochemical cycles in reactor. cycling stability, structural integrity, mechanical morphology phase composition analysed. Full conversion both samples entire experimental series. It found that alumina enhances stability under conditions.
