Development, Characterization and Evaluation of Cubosomes Loaded Smart Gel for the Treatment of Osteomyelitis using 32 Factorial Design

Abstract: Aim: The main aim of present study is to formulate cubosomes containing curcumin. Curcumin a BCS class IV drug which has clinically proven good anti-bacterial property. Materials and Methods: Cubic nanoparticles were prepared by hydrotrope dilution method. Cubosomes formulated with the glyceryl monooleate pluronic F-127 as lipid surfactant respectively, obtained formulations characterized for particle size, entrapment efficiency zeta potential. Design Experiment (DoE) technique was used deriving number experiments obtain an optimised formulation, further incorporated into smart gel gels evaluated gelation time, temperature, viscosity In vitro release. Results: size optimized formulation 186.27nm, potential -17.5 mV greater (71.24%). studies carried out loaded pure (F7) showed sustained release activity.
