چکیده
The effects of solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation on life Earth differ greatly. While overexposure to UV rays is harmful, small amounts exposure are necessary for the synthesis Vitamin D and good health. To optimize individual UV, it therefore crucial use data sources representative entire populations realistically accounting various influencing factors. A climatology Switzerland based satellite has been developed provide risk estimates at population level. An algorithm generating ground-based estimate transformed from visible wavelength domain by adapting both a clear-sky transfer model cloud modification factor using imagery. allows computation global erythemal irradiance spatial resolution 1.5 – 2 km an hourly temporal over fifteen years. validation, conducted with measurements three meteorological stations ten years, showed that expanded uncertainty low UVI values (UVI < 3) about ± 0.3, while high > 6) can go up 1.5. Further tailored analysis will be exploit this wide environmental occupational health applications. Its development was focused Switzerland, but techniques used extended globally.

This review summarizes current data in scientific literature that examines the medical effects of marijuana on human health with particular emphasis on its pot...
متن کاملA Satellite-derived Uv Radiation Climatology over Europe Available for Impact Studies: Daily Maps from January
The paper briefly presents a methodology for mapping surface UV radiation that uses a radiative transfer model and satellite data to quantify the influencing factors. TOMS, TOVS and GOME data are used for the total column ozone. The cloud optical thickness is estimated using METEOSAT/MVIRI data. Other influencing factors taken into account include tropospheric aerosols, snow cover and surface e...
متن کاملSatellite Inferred Global Climatology
Clouds are essential for life to exist on earth due to their influential climatological impact. Clouds help control the radiation balance of the earth by reflecting incoming solar radiation, a cooling process; however, clouds also act as absorbers of terrestrial infrared radiation, a warming process. This dual role is a primary motive to examine the effects clouds have on the global climate. Qu...
متن کاملSCHNAPS: a generic population-based simulator for public health purposes
In this paper, we present SCHNAPS, a generic simulator designed for health care modelling and simulations, parametrizable by configuration files and usable by non-programmers such as public health specialists. SCHNAPS is a populationbased simulator, using hybrid-state agents to simulate timedriven models. Its software architecture integrates some fundamental object oriented concepts to facilita...
متن کاملPhysician privacy concerns when disclosing patient data for public health purposes during a pandemic influenza outbreak
BACKGROUND Privacy concerns by providers have been a barrier to disclosing patient information for public health purposes. This is the case even for mandated notifiable disease reporting. In the context of a pandemic it has been argued that the public good should supersede an individual's right to privacy. The precise nature of these provider privacy concerns, and whether they are diluted in th...
