Detonation and its limit in small tubes with ozone sensitization

Ozone as an ignition promoter was used to study the detonation limit behavior in small, round tubes. Experimentally, cellular structures and velocity deficits of fuel-oxygen mixtures with without 3000 PPM ozone were measured tubes 32 6 mm inner diameter. Both hydrogen-oxygen methane-oxygen tested. The addition reduces cell size extends transition spinning lower initial pressures. addition, however, produces a negligible effect on deficit far from while providing measurable extension limit. change caused by does not correlate reduction size, suggesting that is solely function structure. By analyzing data d/? (the ratio tube diameter width) domain, two regimes limits are identified: loss-governed regime where deficiency results various losses (mass, momentum, heat) insensitive structure, geometry-limited determined geometric accommodation structures. Two models evaluated against experimental results: modified ZND model heat momentum (HML) flow divergence (FD) model.
