Determination of Liquefaction Potential of Tabriz City, Northwest of Iran

The city of Tabriz, located in Northwestern Iran, is one the seismo-tectonically active regions Iran. Historical earthquake sequences this area show that recurrence interval earthquakes with M>6 can be estimated equal to 250 years (while some larger M>7 have been reported literature). Based on knowledge, occurrence a large Tabriz expected for upcoming decades. Therefore, evaluating potential liquefaction (as significant hazards induced by earthquakes) and providing an appropriate hazard zonation map necessary pre-crisis management. To aim, different methods are applied assess study comparison between their results presented paper. Methods based standard penetration test fully coupled finite element site response modeling employed investigate liquefaction.
