Determination of Carbapenemase Production by BD Phoenix CPO Method in Karbapenem Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli Isolates

چکیده
Aim:Carbapenemase-producing organisms are Gram-negative bacteria that resistant to most, sometimes all, antibiotics with their carbapenemase enzymes. Rapid and accurate detection of carbapenemases is essential for the early prevention nosocomial infections.
Material Method:The study included 72 isolates, 64 containing Oxa-48, 6 NDM, 2 NDM+Oxa-48 16 isolates without carbapenemase, isolated from various clinical samples sent bacteriology unit ……. University Hospital Central Laboratory between January 2020 December 2020. Carbapenemase enzyme groups were investigated in BD Phoenix CPO Detect (Becton Dickinson, USA) kit.
Results:The compatibility test PCR was 95.3% Oxa-48 carrying 100% those NDM gene. The negative predictive rate 88.8% all 83.3% K. pneumoniae 100.0% E. coli isolates.
Conclusion:The usage test, which can detect enzymes , routine diagnostic laboratories will contribute diagnosis correct treatment bacteria.

Genome Sequences of Two Carbapenemase-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae ST258 Isolates
Klebsiella pneumoniae, an ESKAPE group (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter species) pathogen, has acquired multiple antibiotic resistance genes and is becoming a serious public health threat. Here, we report the genome sequences of two representative strains of K. pneumoniae from the emerging K. p...
متن کاملDetection of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) production in non-Klebsiella pneumoniae Enterobacteriaceae isolates by use of the Phoenix, Vitek 2, and disk diffusion methods.
In this study, we tested the abilities of the Vitek 2, BD Phoenix, and Kirby Bauer disk diffusion tests to detect carbapenemase production in a collection of 14 Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing non-Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates. In addition, we evaluated 13 KPC-positive K. pneumoniae isolates by using each of these methods and applied both 2009 and 2010 CLSI carbapenem inter...

Background: Prevalence of co-existence of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs), metallo-beta-lactamase (MBLs) and AmpC-β-lactamases producing isolates in these bacteria is a serious problem in treatment of infections. The aim of this study was to characterization co-existence of ESBLs, AmpC and MBLs in Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from Khorramabad hospitals. Materials ...
متن کاملPlasmid-mediated beta-lactamases in clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli resistant to ceftazidime.
Low-level transferable resistance to ceftazidime was detected in seven strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae and one strain of Escherichia coli. Six of the Klebsiella strains and the E. coli strain were shown to produce a novel beta-lactamase (CAZ-lo) with a pI of 5.6 that hydrolyzed broad-spectrum cephalosporins at low but comparable levels. One strain of K. pneumoniae was of a serotype different f...
متن کاملEsbl Production: Resistance Pattern in Escherichia Coli and Klebsiella Pneumoniae, a Study by Ddst Method
Objectives: Resistance to third generation cephalosporins in E. coli and K. pneumoniae are due to various factors. The present study was undertaken to detect resistance mediated by ESBL’s. Multidrug resistance in isolates producing ESBL was also studied. Methods: The study included a total of 200 clinical specimens which include 95 urine, 45 pus, 32 sputum, 11 blood, 9 throat swabs, 6 suction t...
