Determinants of urban households’ livelihood diversification strategies in North Shewa Zone, Ethiopia

Livelihood diversification is important for urban development to end poverty and food insecurity problems. In Ethiopia, livelihood quite low specifically in North Shewa Zone. Therefore, this study aims identify the determinants of strategies households The data were collected through both primary secondary collection methods. A multistage sampling technique was employed select 398 household heads from three areas multinomial logistic regression model analyze determinant area. results revealed that determined by age head, education status, family size, credit access, market training extension service positively dependency ratio negative. recommends zonal regional governments Ethiopia should develop a comprehensive policy could empower off-farm non-farm besides farm activities.
