Determinants of Positive Mental Health in Adolescents–A Cross-Sectional Study on Relationships between Positive Mental Health, Self-Esteem, Character Strengths and Social Inclusion

Adolescence is a crucial time period with especial vulnerability for development of mental health problems. Growing interest focusing on the determinants positive in order to find key concepts that could be influenced promotion well-being adolescents. In this study we aim explore relations between self-esteem, character strengths and experience social inclusion as adolescents’ controlled selected sociodemographic background factors. The population (n = 195) consisted comprehensive school students who filled an electronic questionnaire adolescent’s Fall 2019. included measures Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS), VIA Youth-measure 96, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Experience Social Inclusion Scale. methods group comparisons General Linear Model computed by SPSS 24.0. strongest association was found self-esteem (? 0.789, p < 0.001), followed hope kindness inclusion. Interestingly, family’s socioeconomic factors did not associate significantly final statistical model. terms our results, it seems might have stronger than determinants. Therefore, should discussed whether psychological overcome individual effect poor status influence health. Further studies are needed establish these results more firmly.
