A rotary tiller or rotavator is active tillage equipment used to prepare farmland for sowing seeds, weeding, mixing manure and fertiliser into the soil, crushing soil blocks, etc. Compared with conventional farming, advantages of this are rapid seedbed preparation reduced draught.
