Design of Quadruple Offset Butterfly Valve Used in Power Plants

چکیده

The elliptical disc is a specific characteristic of triple offset butterfly valve (TOBV), but the structure leads to non-uniform distribution contact at closing position with wear. On other hand, continuous processing sections finish entire contour expensive compared circular section. In present study, improve above disadvantages an disc, elliptic cone function was established describe quadruple (QOBV) shape, which has section disc. addition, some designs fixed thickness (7 mm) laminated seal for good sealing were proved. Sealing performance simulations carried out using thermal–structural coupling analysis. best design QOBV showed that maximum pressure 37.2% lower than TOBV seven-way layers (thickness A240–316 stainless and graphite 1.3 mm 0.6 mm, respectively). Compared TOBV, operation during opening process faster smoother. can be applied widely various industrial fields, engine exhaust systems, turbine power plants under severe environments.
