Design of N-Way Wilkinson Power Dividers with New Input/Output Arrangements for Power-Halving Operations

In this paper, new single/double-layer N-way Wilkinson power dividers (WPDs) were designed by using slow-wave structures such as narrow-slit-loaded and meandered transmission lines. For size reduction, the slit-loaded lines used instead of quarter-wavelength a conventional WPD. Based on proposed approaches, two-, four-, eight-way designed, simulated, fabricated. The fabricated 2-, 4-, 8-way circuits measured at center frequencies 2.03, 1.77, 1.73 GHz, which are in excellent agreement with predicted ones. also to design WPD types novel input/output port arrangements. purpose, two three-way WPDs located both sides same board have different power-splitting ratios inputs outputs order provide alternative solutions for antenna arrays. Furthermore, five-way dual-layer was introduced locating into layers. most important advantage 3- 5-way is that they allowed input next output be halved, P/2, P/4, P/8, P/16, P/16. All power-halving fabricated, successfully tested.
