Design of Automatic Pest Trap using A Yellow-LED bait on Cucumber Plants

Abstract Cucumber is a popular plant that much needed by Indonesian society. The demand for cucumbers tends to increase every year. In cucumber cultivation activities, the biggest challenge pest and disease attacks. Continuous attack causes growth failure plants. For this reason, technology can reduce attacks damage design of an automatic trap uses solar energy so it be placed in field without additional electricity supply. This study aimed insect trapping system using yellow-LED as bait. yellow bait used was assembled LEDs. microcontroller integrated E18-D50NK infrared sensor booster fan. worked detect presence insects, then fan pushed insects into reservoir filled with water. Tests observations were carried out six days (144 hours). results showed there 837 detected system, while 665 entered reservoir. number dead 598 insects. average duration falling 130 seconds. calculation effectiveness between caught 80.87%.
