Design and Simulation of a controller for Double Fed Induction Generator turbine Utilized Solar Up Draft Tower

This paper introduces a complete design and simulation of controller for the double fed induction generator (DFIG) turbine. The work also included solar updraft tower (SUT) to supply Al-Mahmoudia hospital in Baghdad/Iraq. includes daily average load estimation, annual irradiance and, temperature monitoring, logging.
 According data obtained from Ministry Science Technology, Baghdad has low wind speed. Therefore, been designed generate electrical power depending on difference between external internal air temperature. will suitable airspeed drive turbine, connected proposed generators that appropriate required. DFIG is based (vector control) by using PI control feed rotor circuit parts. consists two back-to-back PWM inverters stator rotor. paper's main goal simulate (DFIG's) under various operating conditions driven which rotated warm effect inside tower. maximum with constant magnitude frequency output voltage. controller's performance verified model built MATLAB/Simulink software. results confirm (Vector Control), maintains both voltage stays at nominal values stabilization irrespective speed variations extract power. In addition, provides (MPPT) turbine according available torque give quadrature current (Iqr), causes change working conditions. showed steady-state discussed different methods Control, MPPT) strategy (DFIG). MATLAB Simulink software used modeling one DFIG's modules 276 KW. Besides, show demonstrates significant improvements terms better stability faster response.
