Design and Numerical Implementation of V2X Control Architecture for Autonomous Driving Vehicles

This paper is concerned with designing and numerically implementing a V2X (Vehicle-to-Vehicle Vehicle-to-Infrastructure) control system architecture for platoon of autonomous vehicles. The integrates the well-known Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) Autonomous Driving Vehicles (ADVs) Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) Communication. main aim to address practical implementation issues such as well safety security concerns traffic environments. To this end, we first investigated channel estimation model V2I communication. We employed IEEE 802.11p vehicular standard calculated path loss, Packet Error Rate (PER), Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), throughput between transmitter receiver end. Next, carried out several case studies evaluate performance proposed respect its response to: (i) communication infrastructure; (ii) sensitivity an emergency, inter-vehicular gap, significant perturbation; (iii) under loss changing driving environment. Simulation results show effectiveness model. collision-free infinite length string on single lane road-driving It also shows that it can work during lack communication, where vehicles make their decision help own sensors. Enabled (VX-IDM) assessed compared state-of-the-art models considering parameter settings metrics.
