High-speed solid-rotor induction machines (HSIMs) are popular within high-speed (HS) applications because of their high rotor structural integrity and fairly well-established manufacturing process guaranteeing quality series products. Designing a new HS electric machine requires multidisciplinary team to accomplish the performance desired. In case design, components applied materials often reach physical limits at rated operating condition. Therefore, design is highly iterative and, thus, systematic approach has potential reduce time phase significantly. this article, proposed for modular, multimegawatt (MMW) HSIM with three radial active magnetic bearings. The includes traditional flow extra critical aspects MMW machines: manufacturability, bearing system, housing, unit. addition, manufactured reported. described, including several machinery.
