Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans—An Atypical Breast Tumor

A 49-year-old woman was referred to the Department of Plastic and Breast Surgery under suspicion breast cancer after a mammogram revealed self-discovered tumor in lower part her left breast. Clinical examination, mammography, histopathological examination that original benign, an incidental malignant tumor, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), found contralateral DFSP is rare highly entity often silent difficult diagnose, making biopsy essential. Surgical treatment must be aggressive due high risk recurrence, which constitutes technical challenge. The patient underwent surgery using oncoplastic approach with volume-reducing technique achieve best possible therapeutic aesthetic results. Therapeutic reduction performed on right removed within resected tissue. symmetrizing mammoplasty also simultaneously. discharged without major complications, no recurrence seen during 30-month follow-up period. surgical included alternative solutions addition conventional lumpectomy or mastectomy. multidisciplinary, open-minded, creative resulted satisfying outcome for this patient.
