Depression among the Non-Native International Undergraduate Students Studying Dentistry in Bangladesh

Background: Bangladesh has been attracting international students with interests in various subjects recently. Every year from different parts of the world come to study undergraduate and postgraduate courses, mostly at private universities Bangladesh. This evaluates depression status among who are studying dentistry Methods: cross-sectional survey was conducted International dental enrolled Bachelor Dental Surgery program nine public colleges Participants were selected using a convenience sampling method. A total 206 completed where 78.5% them female 21.5% male, CES-D 10-item Likert scale questionnaire used for data collection. The Cronbach alpha this population is 0.812. Results: majority (79.5%) below 24 years age mean 23.22 standard deviation 2.3, cannot communicate well Bengali (Bangla), about 60% have experienced depression. About 77.3% (p < 0.00) having financial difficulties exhibited went through problems two times more likely suffer (OR = 2.38; p-value 0.01). Conclusion: tried highlight struggles faced by dentistry. It evident findings that several factors influence students’ mental well-being during demanding education years.
