چکیده
Drought is a major abiotic factor adversely affecting wheat productivity. Water deficit reduces significantly photosynthesis and hence the remobilization of stored assimilate reserves from stem becomes important sources for grain filling. We assessed ability different internodes leaf sheaths to deposit remobilize reserve assimilates as well their role in yield formation 6 winter varieties under drought conditions during period The dry weight content water-soluble carbohydrates matter main shoot was determined at anthesis, beginning milk ripeness full ripeness. total amount segments calculated product specific segment its mass. remobilized each estimated difference between appropriate values anthesis or maximum accumulation reached early most productive Kyivska 17 Horodnytsia had largest all internodes. Depositing capacity second third (counting top) higher compared others has significant effect on productivity studied. Despite variability strong genotype x year interaction relationships depositing traits productivity, mainly tight correlations were found with per spike. obtained data suggests that deposited an contributing filling arid more detailed studies individual can be useful development breeding tools further genetic improvement.

Wheat genotypic variation in dynamic fluxes of WSC components in different stem segments under drought during grain filling
In wheat, stem water soluble carbohydrates (WSC), composed mainly of fructans, are the major carbon sources for grain filling during periods of decreasing photosynthesis or under drought stress after anthesis. Here, in a field drought experiment, WSC levels and associated enzyme activities were followed in different stem segments (peduncle, penultimate internode, lower parts of stem, and sheath...
متن کاملGrain Filling Rate and Duration in Bread Wheat Under Irrigated and Drought Stressed Conditions
Abstract Eleven wheat cultivars were evaluated at 10-day intervals, beginning from anthesis, under irrigated and drought stress conditions during 2006-2007. The effects of irrigation, genotype and date of harvest were significant for most of the studied characters. Water deficit decreased pre-and post-anthesis assimilation rate, grain weight per spike, grain number per spike and 1000 grain wei...
متن کاملContributions of Root WSC during Grain Filling in Wheat under Drought
As the first organ in plants to sense water-deficit in the soil, roots have important roles for improving crop adaption to water limited environments. Stem water soluble carbohydrates (WSC) are a major carbon source for grain filling under drought conditions. The contributions of root WSC during grain filling under drought has not been revealed. Wheat parental lines of Westonia, Kauz and their ...

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Drought stress is the most prevalent and limiting factor in the growth and productivity of crop plants. According to the challenge of deficiency in precipitation or consecutive droughts in recent years in Iran and as a result of a shortage of irrigation water in wheat production, knowledge of the relationship between grain quality and grain yield ...
متن کاملKinetin and 24-epibrassinolide - induced antioxidant responses in three wheat cultivars during drought stress in grain filling stage
The interaction of hormones plays an important role in plant equilibrium, especially, when plants encountered to environmental stresses, during both vegetative and generative stages. For this purposes, the experiment was designed based on the interaction effect of exogenous treatments of individual kinetin (Kin) and 24-epibrassinolide (24-EBL) and their dual application with two level of field ...
