Dentin thickness of the mesio-buccal root wall of the lower first molar using cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT)

Introduction. The aim of this work was to check the average thickness dentinal wall mesio-buccal root first lower molar using CBCT axial sections intact teeth. Material and method. In cross-sectional study, 100 images mandibular molars from Promax 3Dent radiology center in Banja Luka, Bosnia Herzegovina were evaluated. A Planmeca Promax3D Max apparatus (Planmeca, Helsinki, Finland) used, with a field view (FOV) 8 ? cm resolution 0.1 mm. Analysis performed Romexis Viewer software version 3.1.1 Finland). At an mm, transverse distance 1 mm made below furcation area (at magnification ?10) at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 furcation. data then analyzed by paired t-test. Results. significantly smaller 2 3 than when measured 4 (p < 0.05). There no significant difference between measurements = 0.001). Conclusion. Due small 2-3 canal, caution is required instrumenting canal correct selection instrumentation technique order avoid transportation or stripping perforation that may lead fracture.
