Density Evolution Analysis of the Iterative Joint Ordered-Statistics Decoding for NOMA

In this paper, we develop a density evolution (DE) framework for analyzing the iterative joint decoding (JD) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems, where ordered-statistics (OSD) is applied to decode short block codes. We first investigate density-transform feature of soft-output OSD (SOSD), by deriving extrinsic log-likelihood ratio (LLR) with known densities priori LLR. Then, represent OSD-based JD bipartite graphs (BGs), and DE characterizing features nodes over BG under binary phase shift keying (BPSK) transmission. Numerical examples show that proposed accurately tracks LLRs during decoding, especially at moderate-to-high SNRs. Based on framework, further analyze BER performance JD, convergence points two-user equal-power systems.
