Demonstration of the Effectiveness of Epidermal Growth Factor in Diabetic Foot Ulcers

Purpose: Diabetes affects more than 170 million people over the age of 20 worldwide. Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are one most common complications diabetes. It negatively influence patients' quality life. Multidisciplinary treatment is required in DFUs. In our study, we aimed to investigate effectiveness intralesional epidermal growth factor (EGF) diabetic neuropathy ulcers.
 Materials and Methods: The study was conducted with 29 patients who applied clinic due wounds between January 2014 December 2020, had no wound infection osteomyelitis, underwent EGF accordance criteria. 75µg/day 3 times a week intralesionally for 4-8 weeks.
 Results: A total were included study. 21 male 8 them female. mean 59,82. One patient signs osteomyelitis. Additional disease detected 93,1% patients. ulcer width found be 3,44 cm2.
 Conclusion: Three important results obtained from First; has been quite effective DFU. second finding ensure safe epithelialization standing without impairing life Thirdly, after debridement, provide significant improvement wounds.
