Demographic, Clinical, and Laboratory Characteristics of HIV Patients with Cerebral Toxoplasmosis at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital Medan

Cerebral toxoplasmosis is one of the frequent opportunistic infections central nervous system Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) patients in presence Toxoplasma Gondii infection. In Indonesia, incidence HIV with cerebral 45%. This study was done to determine demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan, based on medical record data 2022. The total sample 23 time periods from January March Demographically, showed that most were male (91.3%), a mean age 36.48 ± 5.74 years, married (87%), high school graduates (69.6%), working (91.3%). common clinical headache (69.6%) cognitive impairment (56.5%). Laboratory found (56.5%) non-reactive (<0.8 COI) (43.5%) reactive (≥1 anti toxoplasma IgM, while anti-toxoplasma IgG (≥3 IU/ml) obtained all research samples (100%).
