چکیده
We present here the results of hydrostatic pressure demagnetization experiments up to 1.8 GPa on LL, L and H ordinary chondrites—the most common type meteorites with Fe-Ni alloys being main magnetic carrier. used a non-magnetic high-pressure cell piston-cylinder made “Russian” alloy (NiCrAl) together liquid transmitting medium PES-1 (polyethylsiloxane) ensure purely pressure. This technique allowed measuring remanence investigated samples directly under as well upon decompression. Pressure was always applied in near-zero field (<5 μT). The revealed that GPa, chondrites lose 51% their initial saturation isothermal remanent magnetization. degree is proportional coercivity (Bcr), which reflects hardness samples. similar what observed for ferrimagnetic minerals others than Fe–Ni alloys. In addition, does not demagnetize Bcr > 80 mT, i.e. whose metal phase tetrataenite (Fe0.5Ni0.5). study gives an overview sensitivity has implications extraterrestrial paleomagnetism it can help interpret magnetization suffered shock metamorphism processes.

متن کاملSuperconducting phase diagram of Li metal in nearly hydrostatic pressures up to 67 GPa.
The dependence of the superconducting transition temperature T(c) on nearly hydrostatic pressure has been determined to 67 GPa in an ac susceptibility measurement for a Li sample embedded in helium pressure medium. With increasing pressure, superconductivity appears at 5.47 K for 20.3 GPa, T(c) rising rapidly to approximately 14 K at 30 GPa. The T(c)(P) dependence to 67 GPa differs significantl...
متن کاملConformation of p-terphenyl under hydrostatic pressure.
The conformation of p-terphenyl (C18H14) and deuterated p-terphenyl (C18D14) has been investigated, using high-pressure infrared spectroscopy at liquid-helium temperatures. First-principles calculations, together with the experimental results, were performed to determine the structure of p-terphenyl in the twisted conformation. At low temperatures and pressures, p-terphenyl belongs to the C2 po...
متن کاملInfrared spectroscopy of biphenyl under hydrostatic pressure
Changes in the conformations of conjugated molecules affect the optical and electronic properties significantly. Hydrostatic pressure has been used to probe the conformations of biphenyl (C12H10) and deuterated biphenyl (C12D10) at liquid-helium temperatures. Infrared ~IR! spectra of these materials have been taken up to a pressure of 2 GPa. A disappearance of certain IR absorption peaks has be...
