Defining the zerogap: cracking along the photolithographically defined Au–Cu–Au lines with sub-nanometer precision

چکیده
Abstract Cracks are formed along the photolithographically pre-determined lines with extremely high yield and repeatability, when Cu clusters introduced between planarized Au thin films sequentially deposited on a PET substrate. These act as nanometer-sized spacers preventing formation of contiguous metallic bond adjacent layers which will render prepatterned-cracking impossible. While effective gap width is initially zero in optical sense from microwaves all way to visible, outer-bending substrate allows tuning into 100 nm range, stability controllability ranges s Angstrom-scale, respectively. It anticipated that our wafer-scale prepatterned crack technology an unprecedented mixture macroscopic length Angstrom-scale open-up many applications optoelectronics, quantum photonics photocatalysis.

15 صفحه اولSub-nanometer precision modification of the optical properties of three-dimensional polymer-based photonic crystals
We present a convenient post-fabrication technique to precisely tune the optical properties of polymer-based threedimensional photonic crystals with sub-nanometer precision. Conventional air-plasma etching is utilized to modify the filling fraction of direct laser written polymer photonic crystals beyond the wavelength-imposed limits. Tuning of the optical properties is monitored in transmissio...
متن کاملCell Patterning on Photolithographically Defined Parylene-C: SiO2 Substrates
Cell patterning platforms support broad research goals, such as construction of predefined in vitro neuronal networks and the exploration of certain central aspects of cellular physiology. To easily combine cell patterning with Multi-Electrode Arrays (MEAs) and silicon-based 'lab on a chip' technologies, a microfabrication-compatible protocol is required. We describe a method that utilizes depo...
متن کاملA Self Servo Writing Scheme for a MEMS Storage Device with Sub-Nanometer Precision
In the probe-based storage concept being pursued by IBM, a MEMS based micro-scanner is used to position the storage medium relative to the read/write probes. To achieve repeatable positioning over a large storage area, it is necessary to have medium-derived position information. Dedicated servo-fields are typically employed to obtain medium-derived position information. Sub-nanometer positionin...
