چکیده

Abstract. Olivine, a ferromagnesian orthosilicate, is the most abundant mineral in Earth's upper mantle and stable down to olivine–wadsleyite phase transition, which defines 410 km depth transition zone. Olivine also occurs crustal environments metamorphic hydrothermal rocks expected be major constituent of Martian Venusian mantles. The olivine atomic structure used materials science manufacture lithium batteries. Like any other crystalline solid, including minerals, never with perfect structure: defects various dimensions are ubiquitous, from point, line, planar three-dimensional (3-D) inclusions. In this contribution, I review current state art several implications for key processes occurring mantle. Diffusion and mobility of electrically conducting defects in olivine

Electrical conductivity of lherzolite (65% olivine), measured as a function of time after changes in the oxygen fugacity (fo2) of the surrounding CO2/CO atmosphere, is used to infer the diffusivity of the point defects responsible for conduction in olivine. A total of 63 equilibration runs at temperatures of 900, 1000, 1100, and 1200 C were fit using nonlinear parameter estimation to recover ti...

Sintering Behaviour of Waste Olivine and Olivine/Alumina Blends

The sintering behaviour of several green compacts made with olivine or olivine/alumina powder blends has been examined. To this goal, powders were attrition milled, uniaxially pressed into specimens and air sintered at temperatures ranging from 1100 to 1300 °C. The resulting samples were characterized by water absorption, shrinkage, phase composition and density. Compositions containing 5%, 10%...

Olivine-type NaCd(AsO4)

The title compound, sodium cadmium orthoarsenate, adopts the olivine [Mg2(SiO4)] structure type in space group Pnma, with Na (site symmetry -1) and Cd (.m.) replacing the two Mg positions, and the AsO4 tetra-hedron (.m.) the SiO4 tetra-hedron. The crystal structure is made up of a nearly hexa-gonal closed-packed arrangement of O atoms stacked along [001]. The Na and Cd atoms occupy one half of ...
