چکیده
In this paper, deep learning models trained with real seismic data are proposed and proven to detect earthquakes in fiber-optic distributed acoustic sensor (DAS) measurements. The neural network architectures cover the three classical paradigms: fully connected artificial networks (FC-ANNs), convolutional (CNNs) recurrent (RNNs). Results demonstrate that training these waveforms measured by traditional broadband seismometers can extract learn relevant features of earthquakes, enabling reliable detection waves DAS intrinsic differences between seismograph waveforms, eventual errors labelling data, slightly reduce performance when tested Despites that, still reach up 96.94% accuracy case CNN 93.86% CNN+RNN. method results here reported could represent an important contribution development early warning earthquake system based on technology.

متن کاملDistributed Fiber-Optic Sensors for Vibration Detection
Distributed fiber-optic vibration sensors receive extensive investigation and play a significant role in the sensor panorama. Optical parameters such as light intensity, phase, polarization state, or light frequency will change when external vibration is applied on the sensing fiber. In this paper, various technologies of distributed fiber-optic vibration sensing are reviewed, from interferomet...
متن کاملAdaptive Temporal Matched Filtering for Noise Suppression in Fiber Optic Distributed Acoustic Sensing
Distributed vibration sensing based on phase-sensitive optical time domain reflectometry ( ϕ -OTDR) is being widely used in several applications. However, one of the main challenges in coherent detection-based ϕ -OTDR systems is the fading noise, which impacts the detection performance. In addition, typical signal averaging and differentiating techniques are not suitable for detecting high freq...
متن کاملAssessment of detection limits of fiber-optic distributed temperature sensing for detection of illicit connections.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) with fiber-optic cables is a powerful tool to detect illicit connections in storm sewer systems. High-frequency temperature measurements along the in-sewer cable create a detailed representation of temperature anomalies due to illicit discharges. The detection limits of the monitoring equipment itself are well-known, but there is little information availabl...
متن کاملFabry-Perot Diaphragm Fiber Optic Sensor (DFOS) for Acoustic Detection
The diaphragm fiber optic sensor (DFOS) solely based on Fabry-Perot multiple beam interference has been designed and fabricated with Micro-electric mechanical system (MEMS) technology. The silicon diaphragm with an embossed center was designed with an interference gap width kept accurately. The DFOS is verified to be truly and purely of Fabry-Perot type via a critical test. Parallel testing of ...
