Hopf algebras for ternary algebras and groups
We construct an universal enveloping algebra associated to the ternary extension of Lie (super)algebras called Lie algebra of order three. A Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem is proven is this context. It this then shown that this universal enveloping algebra can be endowed with a structure of Hopf algebra. The study of the dual of the universal enveloping algebra enables to define the parameters ...
متن کاملBurnside's Theorem for Hopf Algebras
A classical theorem of Burnside asserts that if X is a faithful complex character for the finite group G, then every irreducible character of G is a constituent of some power Xn of X . Fifty years after this appeared, Steinberg generalized it to a result on semigroup algebras K[G] with K an arbitrary field and with G a semigroup, finite or infinite. Five years later, Rieffel showed that the the...
متن کاملCoset Decomposition for Semisimple Hopf Algebras
The notion of double coset for semisimple finite dimensional Hopf algebras is introduced. This is done by considering an equivalence relation on the set of irreducible characters of the dual Hopf algebra. As an application formulae for the restriction of the irreducible characters to normal Hopf subalgebras are given.
متن کاملA Frobenius-Schur theorem for Hopf algebras
In this note we prove a generalization of the Frobenius-Schur theorem for finite groups for the case of semisimple Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. A similar result holds in characteristic p > 2 if the Hopf algebra is also cosemisimple. In fact we show a more general version for any finite-dimensional semisimple algebra with an involution; this more general r...
متن کاملSerre Theorem for Involutory Hopf Algebras
Let H be an involutory Hopf algebra over a field of characteristic zero, M and N two finite dimensional left H-modules such that M ⊗ N is a semisimple H-module. Then M and N are semisimple H-modules. This is a generalization of a theorem proved by J.-P. Serre for group algebras. A version of the theorem above for monoidal categories is also given.
