Decarbonizing copper production by power-to-hydrogen: A techno-economic analysis

چکیده

Electrifying energy-intensive processes is currently intensively explored to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through renewable electricity. Electrification particularly challenging if fossil resources are not only used for energy supply but also as feedstock. Copper production such an process consuming large quantities of fuels both reducing agent and supply. Here, we explore the techno-economic potential Power-to-Hydrogen decarbonize copper production. To determine minimal cost on-site retrofit with technology, formulate solve a mixed-integer linear program integrated system. Under current parameters Germany, resulting direct CO2 abatement 201 EUR/t CO2-eq in On-site utilization electrolysis by-product oxygen has substantial economic benefit. While vastly exceeds European emission certificate prices, sensitivity analysis shows that projected future developments technologies can greatly reduce 54 CO2-eq. An total GHG decarbonization reduces global factor electricity lies below 160 g CO2-eq/kWhel. The results suggest by could become economically environmentally beneficial over next decades due cheaper more efficient rising further

Stochastic techno-economic analysis of alcohol-to-jet fuel production

BACKGROUND Alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) is one of the technical feasible biofuel technologies. It produces jet fuel from sugary, starchy, and lignocellulosic biomass, such as sugarcane, corn grain, and switchgrass, via fermentation of sugars to ethanol or other alcohols. This study assesses the ATJ biofuel production pathway for these three biomass feedstocks, and advances existing techno-economic anal...

Production of Recombinant Human G-csf: a Techno-economic Analysis

Filgrastim is an important protein that treats neutropenia which has significant clinical applications including a possible cure against cancer. However, despite its significant medical benefits, the large scale production of Filgrastim is still rare and is reported only by a handful of companies throughout the world. We present a techno-economic feasibility analysis for a recombinant human ana...

Techno-Economic Analysis of Biofuel Production from Macroalgae (Seaweed)

A techno-economic evaluation of bioenergy production from macroalgae was carried out in this study. Six different scenarios were examined for the production of different energy products and by-products. Seaweed was produced either via the longline method or the grid method. Final products of these scenarios were either ethanol from fermentation, or electricity from anaerobic digestion (AD). By-...
