چکیده
Abstract We developed a modified topography prestack time migration (PSTM) scheme that can improve the imaging resolution by applying effective Q to migration. The computation of traveltime at each location in is based on floating datum smoothed rugged topography. Unlike common quality factor Q, only determines frequency-dependent amplitude and single location, which enables us establish model an inhomogeneous medium. Hence, we acquire using scanning technology according width frequency band signal-to-noise ratio gathers. proposed method be integrated into conventional workflow. Synthetic three-dimensional (3D) field datasets indicate deabsorption PSTM from effective.

Elastic Prestack , Reverse - Time Migration
Elastic prestack, reverse-time depth migration is applied to both synthetic data and four-component eld data from the Valhall area. Reverse-time extrapolation of the recorded multi-component data is by 2-D elastic nite di erence solution to the full wave equation. An eikonal solver is used to compute the acoustic traveltime from the source to the image points. By using horizontal inline and ver...

Constructing the seismic image in vertical time, as opposed to depth, eliminates the inherent ambiguity of resolving the vertical P -wave velocity from surface seismic data in transversely isotropic media with a vertical axis of symmetry (VTI media). By ray tracing in the space-time (x-τ)-domain, a traveltime map is built by interpolating the traveltime information along the rays onto a regular...
متن کاملPrestack migration deconvolution
Poststack MD has been shown to be an effective method for attenuating migration noise, improving lateral resolution, and correcting for some migration amplitude distortion in 2-D and 3-D data (Hu and Schuster, 1998; and Hu and Valasek, 1999). In field data tests, poststack MD has successfully improved the 3-D poststack migration images (Hu and Valsek, 1999) obtained from both synthetic and fiel...
متن کاملPrestack imaging of overturned reflections by reverse time migration
We present a simple method for computing angle-domain Common Image Gathers (CIGs) using prestack reverse time migration. The proposed method is an extension of the method proposed by Rickett and Sava (2001) to compute CIGs by downward-continuation shot-profile migration. We demonstrate with a synthetic example the use of the CIG gathers for migration velocity updating. A challenge for imaging b...
متن کاملVelocity continuation and the anatomy of residual prestack time migration
Velocity continuation is an imaginary continuous process of seismic image transformation in the postmigration domain. It generalizes the concepts of residual and cascaded migrations. Understanding the laws of velocity continuation is crucially important for a successful application of time-migration velocity analysis. These laws predict the changes in the geometry and intensity of reflection ev...
