Data bank: nine numerical methods for determining the parameters of weibull for wind energy generation tested by five statistical tools

This study aims to determine the potential of wind energy in mediterranean coastal plain Palestine. The parameters Weibull distribution were calculated on basis speed data. Accordingly, two approaches employed: analysis a set actual time series data and theoretical probability function. In this analysis, shape factor ‘<em>k</em>’ scale ‘<em>c</em>’ adopted. These suitability values using following popular methods: method moments (MM), standard deviation (STDM), empirical (EM), maximum likelihood (MLM), modified (MMLM), second (SMMLM), graphical (GM), least mean square (LSM) pattern (EPF). performance these numerical methods was tested by root error (RMSE), index agreement (IA), Chi-square test (X<sup>2</sup>), absolute percentage (MAPE) relative (RRMSE) estimate error. Among prediction techniques. EPF exhibited greatest accuracy followed MM MLM, whereas SMMLM worst performance. RMSE achieved best accuracy, RRMSE attained accuracy.
