Best estimate plus uncertainty is the leading methodology to validate existing safety margins. It remains a challenge develop and license these approaches, in part due high dimensionality of system codes. Uncertainty quantification an active area research appropriate methods for propagating uncertainties, offering greater scientific reason, reduction minimising reliance on expert judgement. Inverse required infer best back input parameters reduce but it challenging capture full covariance sensitivity matrices. Bayesian inverse strategies remain attractive their predictive modelling reduced capabilities, dramatic model improvements validation experiments. This paper uses state-of-the-art data assimilation techniques obtain critical plant safety. Data can combine computational, benchmark experimental measurements, propagate sparse matrices, treat non-linear applications accommodate discrepancies. The further demonstrated through application hot zero power tests pressurised water reactor (PWR) performed using BEAVRS with Latin hypercube sampling determine responses. WIMS 11 (dv23) PANTHER (V.5:6:4) are used as coupled neutronics thermal-hydraulics codes; both extensively PWRs. Results demonstrate updated comparisons between posterior distributions generated maximum entropy principle cost functional minimisation illustrated recent conferences. Future work will improve framework introduction higher-order sensitivities.
