Agriculture productivity can be enhanced by IoT- enabled real-time monitoring of weather and soil parameters. Increased volume sensor data demands a significant amount memory power. It also overloads the network, making parameter very difficult. A large reduces lifetime latency decreasing overall throughput. Hence, reduction in overload becomes necessary for energy optimization these energy-constrained sensors. Data aggregation is an effective way optimizing consumption reducing redundantly sensed data. helps designing energy-efficient routing algorithms to transmit information consuming minimum increase operational period network. This paper surveys different with focus on precision agriculture. The survey includes IPv6 protocol low-power lossy networks (RPL) reduce network during transmission, nature-inspired energy-optimized intracluster communication, compressive sensing (CS) minimize redundant aggregation. examines duty-cycling average periodically placing sensors into sleep mode inactive state save energy. Different performance benchmarks are evaluated determine suitability
