The article addresses several issues concerning a Japanese fan and the kimonos found in collection of Ivan Skušek from Slovene Ethnographic Museum. They belonged to Skušek’s wife Marija Tsuneko Skušek, were after her death donated museum together with other objects collection. With analysing these items researching life discusses roles had transmitting culture audience focus on dances as one way transmission. During Ljubljana, adopted society very quickly, but hand she presented identity lectures along songs, tea ceremony. values object collection, also importance understanding not only physical appearance their life, wider background focusing owner relation collector.
