چکیده

Calculating the factor of safety (FS) as slope stability is necessary to prevent environmental damage. Therefore, this paper aims (i) calculate FS using limit equilibrium approaches and Slide software (ii) investigate slopes according calculated (Janbu Bishop methods) status different sites in study area (Hyrcanian forest Iran). Six landslides were selected along road by a field survey. Landslide dimensions including length, width, height measured meters. Slope gradients Suunto clinometer. The was used evaluate analysis slopes. According laboratory tests on soil samples average liquid recorded 58%. results direct shear test showed that rate cohesion (c) coefficient friction angle (φ) decreased with an increase moisture content. results, factors for landslide (Sites 1–6) be 1.3, 0.65, 0.76, 0.55, 1.19 1.51, respectively. These can accurately determine terms stability. classification, Site 1 “susceptible landside”. Sites 2, 3 4 are “very high risk”. Also, 5 6 “high risk” “stable”, instability studied related drainage system (lack culverts or ditches) well marlstone bedrock. comparison obtained real conditions sites, it concluded very accurate under morphology, hydrology mechanics.

Slope Stability Analysis Using Limit Equilibrium Method in Nonlinear Criterion

In slope stability analysis, the limit equilibrium method is usually used to calculate the safety factor of slope based on Mohr-Coulomb criterion. However, Mohr-Coulomb criterion is restricted to the description of rock mass. To overcome its shortcomings, this paper combined Hoek-Brown criterion and limit equilibrium method and proposed an equation for calculating the safety factor of slope wit...

Slope stability analysis with FLAC and limit equilibrium methods

The factor of safety for slopes (FS) has been traditionally evaluated using two-dimensional limit equilibrium methods (LEM). However the FS of a slope can also be computed with FLAC by reducing the soil shear strength in stages until the slope fails. This method is called the shear strength reduction technique (SSR). Many authors have pointed out several advantages of SSR over the limit equilib...

Effect of rice straw and wood chips on Soil erosion and seedling growth on the fill slope of forest roads

Extended abstract   1-Introduction Erosion is a geomorphologic and natural process that is always seen across the world, but this process is triggered by human activities, such as road construction, resulting in a significant negative impact on water resources, soil, environment and national economy. According to the above, preventing soil erosion is an important target in the management and...
