Current PROM and PREM use in health system performance measurement: Still a way to go

چکیده
There is a growing impetus to “measure what matters” enable health systems optimise value-based, person-centred healthcare. This paper describes the critical importance of patient-reported outcome and experience measures (PROMs PREMs) in this pursuit provides an in-depth overview how PROM PREM programs differ between England, United States, Australia. A comprehensive timeline PROM, PREM, legislation/policy, value-based purchasing (pay-for-performance) program implementation accompanies discussion. Importantly, highlights disparities these nations’ PROMs PREMs programs, evidencing that we still have way go towards equal system performance measurement globally.

NAC: still the way to go
Owing to the wide availability of acetaminophen, intentional and unintentional overdoses are one of the leading causes of liver failure in the world [2]. NAC is currently a highly effective and safe antidote to treat acute acetaminophen overdose, and is most efficacious when administered within 8 hours of ingestion [3]. Furthermore, one landmark study showed that even in patients who presented ...

S ince Brugada syndrome was identified in 1992, its therapeutic management of patients has presented a great challenge for clinicians. In this issue of Circulation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, Belhassen et al 2 suggest both risk strati-fication of arrhythmia and therapeutic improvements using electrophysiological study (EPS) and quinidine. Although gradual progress in risk stratification a...

regs work? This question has preoccupied and perplexed T cell biologists for nearly two decades (Tang and Bluestone, 2008; Vignali et al., 2008; Workman et al., 2009). As with all important questions, there are some issues where there is a general consensus and others where there is still considerable disagreement. I would venture that most would agree with the following four basic tenets relat...
متن کاملNucleotide Excision Repair Inhibitors: Still a Long Way to Go
The last few decades have witnessed a new astounding trend emerge in cancer research. The new strategy materialized as a glimmer of hope to improve current standard cancer treatments that target DNA. These DNA-damaging agents induce lesions into the genome, which are aimed at preventing cancer cells from proliferating and invading the surrounding tissue. However, as was shown by many experiment...
متن کاملStructure-ADME relationship: still a long way to go?
BACKGROUND Theoretical models for predicting absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) properties play increasingly important roles in support of the drug development process. OBJECTIVE We briefly review the in silico prediction models for three important ADME properties, namely, aqueous solubility, human intestinal absorption, and oral bioavailability. METHODS Rather than g...
