چکیده
The study was carried out to establish an EV71 virus culture system on Vero cells in a shake (Wave bioreactor) incorporating microcarriers for the production of hand, foot and mouth (HFM) vaccine caused by virus. results investigation 2 types (Cytodex 1 Cytodex 3), showed that gave better efficiency when culturing suspension conditions. combination with Wave bioreactor cell over 3x106cells/ml. optimal infectious dose determined be 0.0001 TCID50/ml. optimisation conditions has obtained suitable titres 108TCID50/ml fifth day after infection. procedure applicable 108 TCID50/ml

Adenovirus in EV71-associated hand, foot, and mouth disease.
Sir—Jane Cardosa and colleagues (Sept 18, p 987) report the discovery of a new fastidious adenovirus among patients with suspected hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in Sarawak. Subsequent to that outbreak, at least five deaths among young children with almost similar clinical presentations were reported in the Malaysian Peninsula. Enterovirus 71 (EV71) was isolated and identified in all five...

Five different subtypes of foot and mouth disease (FMD) virus propagated in BHK21 C13 monolayer cell cultures, namely 05, A5/!0, A22, C¡ and Asia 1/1, were used to study the stability of live virus during freeze-drying and subsequent storage. Binary ethyleneimine-inactivated FMD virus vaccines adjuvanted with purified saponin, "Quil-A", without aluminium hydroxide gel, were examined before and ...
