CT-angiography and doppler ultrasound evaluation of congenital portosystemic shunts

Aim: The aim of the study was to describe Doppler ultrasonography and computed tomography findings that should be considered in diagnosis treatment congenital portosystemic shunts.Methods: Archive retrospectively scanned. In consideration shunts: communication type aneurysm were defined. Additional imaging modalities utilized.Results: 11 patients included study. ages ranged from 0 158 months. There two with shunt connecting segment-4 portal vein - middle hepatic vein, segment-3 left – renal -inferior vena cava, one patient perirectal venous plexus.Conclusion: Some classifications used shunts are insufficient guiding treatment. Elaborate definition including involved vessels, communication, presence or dilated vessels is prime importance for tailoring clinical management patients.
