Crowdfunding for Islamic Banking and Finance Research: Model and Potential Research Interests

Research in academia is crucial for universities Malaysia, as the Ministry of Education aspires to enhance quality tertiary education and promotes innovation country. However, insufficient funding has restrained activity university research. To address this situation, crowdfunding become a new alternative academic research support. This study investigates two main issues regarding Islamic banking finance research, namely, suitable model potential field selection by donors. The employed qualitative method. Several interview sessions were conducted with religious councils, financial institutions, platforms, scholar. findings show that 1) most support activities reward-based 2) three fields identified are products, services, investment. Therefore, offers guidelines implement suggestions create platform universities.
