Criticality-enhanced quantum sensing in ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensates: Role of readout measurement and detection noise

We theoretically investigate estimation of the control parameter in a ferromagnetic Bose-Einstein condensate near second order quantum phase transitions. quantify sensitivity by and classical Fisher information using error-propagation formula. For these different metrics, we find same, beyond-standard-quantum-limit (SQL) scaling with atom number critical points, SQL away from points. that both depletion $m_f=0$ Zeeman sub-level transverse magnetization provide signals sufficient quality to saturate scaling. To explore effect experimental imperfections, study around criticality at nonzero temperature detection noise. Our results suggest feasibility sub-SQL sensing condensates current capabilities.
