Crithmum maritimum seeds, a potential source for high-quality oil and phenolic compounds in soils with no agronomical relevance

The objective of the present study was to analyse fruit yield and lipid phenolic composition seeds from edible halophyte Crithmum maritimum growing in different types soil with variable physicochemical properties. Seed oil content ranged between 8.39–11.66 % showed high nutritional value, (423−603 mg TPC 100 g−1) presented levels quercetin-type compounds pharmaceutical interest. strong conservation these traits, together a stable production, suggests that C. could be cultivated soils no agronomical relevance produce as an accessible environmentally friendly source good quality phenolics for industrial purposes.
