Creep-Fatigue Interaction Effects On Pressure-Reducing Valve Under Cyclic Thermo-Mechanical Loadings Using Direct Cyclic Method

Abstract Supercritical boiler system has been widely used to increase efficiency of electricity generation in power plant industries. However, the supercritical operating condition can seriously affect structural integrity components due high temperature that causes degradation material properties. Pressure reducing valve is an important component being employed within a main steam line boiler, which occasionally thermal-fatigue failure reported. This research investigated creep-cyclic plastic behaviour pressure under combined thermo-mechanical loading using numerical direct method known as extended Direct Steady Cyclic Analysis Linear Matching Method Framework (LMM eDSCA). Finite element model pressure-reducing created based on practical dimension and temperature-dependent properties are applied for analysis. The simulation results demonstrate critical attributes creep-fatigue valve. Parametric studies confirm effects magnitude creep deformation total per cycle. With these comprehensive results, this provides engineer with insight into mechanism at temperature.
